
Prof. Gyu Seog Choi is a leading pioneer in minimally invasive surgery (MIS) for colorectal cancer, having introduced laparoscopic techniques as early as 1994. To date, he has performed more than 10,000 laparoscopic and robotic colorectal cancer procedures. He is an active and founding member of several major surgical societies and has served in multiple leadership roles, including Past President of the Clinical Robotic Surgery Association and the Korean Society of Endoscopic and Robotic Surgery, President-Elect of the Korean Society of Coloproctology, and Founder of the Asian Robotic Camp for Colorectal Surgeons (ARCCS).
Prof. Choi has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications in the fields of surgery and oncology, and his academic excellence has been recognized through numerous honors, including the prestigious Karl-Storz Award from the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery (EAES). He currently serves as Professor in the Division of Colorectal Surgery at Kyungpook National University Hospital. His major clinical and research interests include minimally invasive and robotic surgery for colorectal cancer, as well as cancer immunogenetics.
