Dr. Songphol Malakorn is a Thai colorectal surgeon highly specialized in surgical oncology. He graduated with honors from the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, in Thailand in 2003. He furthered his surgical training by completing the Diploma of the Thai Board of Surgery in 2008 and the Diploma of the Thai Subboard of Colon and Rectal Surgery in 2012.
Dr. Malakorn significantly advanced his expertise by completing an Advanced Colorectal Surgical Oncology fellowship at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in the United States, through a full-training clinical fellowship program.
His special clinical interests lie in minimally invasive surgery, particularly Robotic-Assisted Colorectal Surgery and Laparoscopic-Assisted Colorectal Surgery, focusing on colorectal cancer. He is actively involved in clinical care, surgical education, and research, playing a key role in regional collaboration efforts among colorectal surgeons in East and Southeast Asia.
